Spleen
Colleen was taken off antibiotics in January, her blood work shows that her spleen has regained function. Glory to God!
Colleen was transplanted at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan. DAY ZERO was September 2, 2005.

By the way, the five years of follow up is now minimum ten years. Colleen will be followed through puberty. The good news is she doesn't have to return to clinic until January 2011, but she will require pulmonary and cardiac tests along with all the other specialists at her appointment. I think one long day of clinic per year is a good trade off for being cured of sickle cell disease!
