Colleen has kept much more hair than I thought she would. Her chemotherapy ended this morning. Today is a day of rest.
William is at the hospital right now being tested as a final prep for tomorrow's harvesting surgery.
Tomorrow is day zero. William at Mott at 6:30. Surgery at 7:30. We (William, Mom, and Dad) will accompany the blood and bone marrow to Colleen's room and watch it drip into her. There will be no pumps. It will simply flow into her. As the blood circulates, the bone marrow will no where to go. (Hurray, God. Good design.)
The next two weeks are critical.

There will be an IV pump, but there isn't any "surgery" for Colleen. The "stem cells" will go live into her, as much as they are able to get. William may need a transfusion, depends how he does after giving that much marrow. As he is only about 50 pounds himself, it is a lot for such a little guy. Chances are high that he will require a transfusion, but we won't know until the time comes in recovery. Keep us all in your prayers. JJ will join us in the morning for a quick visit with Colleen, probably through the window, then she is off to a play date. It's a very big day tomorrow. Our home phone number has changed. Please leave messages at our new number ...734/956-4168. Or Colleen's room number is 734/763-7429.
Oh, and the bone marrow will KNOW where to go.
